Schermerhorn House is a 217 unit permanent housing site for single adults located in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. The project will house 84 individuals with histories of homelessness, mental illness and/or substance abuse, 32 individuals living with HIV/AIDS and 100 low income people who are members of the performing arts community. It is our first effort in a newly constructed building, it brings us together with a new partner (the Actors Fund), and it is our first program site in Brooklyn.
The Social Worker will be responsible for the provision of clinical services, outreach, and supervision of case managers, facilitating organized classes and activities, and crisis intervention. The per diem social worker will supervise the Friday evening and Saturday program: Friday evenings 4:00pm-9:00pm, Saturday 10:am-4:00pm, alternate weekends.
