TITLE: Family Services Finance Associate
REPORTS TO: Director of Family Services

POSITION SUMMARY:
Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake (HHC) is a growing, multi-faceted organization that serves families in need of decent, affordable housing while transforming entire communities throughout the Annapolis to Baltimore region. The Family Services Finance Associate coordinates the critical aspects of our homeownership program which have to do with purchase or sale of property, preparing for settlement with approved buyers, and other finance-related aspects of the department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate all paperwork required for settlements with HHC homebuyers, including ordering and evaluating appraisals, as well as all other items necessary to achieve an accurate, fairly priced settlement.

Serve as main HHC liaison to relevant third parties such as title companies, mortgage leveraging partners and mortgage servicing institutions to maintain a smooth process during acquisition, settlement, and post-settlement.

Coordinate efforts with mortgage servicers on homeowner issues that may arise, i.e. collection calls, correspondence, coordination with legal counsel when necessary, and any paperwork related to modifications or necessary legal actions with HHC homeowners.

Coordinate all paperwork for the settlement of HHC property acquisitions.

Prepare regular reports for the department, the CEO and the Board of Directors reflecting the status of our overall mortgage portfolio, and responsibly manage a large volume of sensitive data with high attention to detail.

Assist the Education and Outreach Coordinator in keeping homeowners abreast of available property tax assistance, timing, and all other items that can affect a homeowner’s mortgage payment.

Assist the Family Services Coordinator in reviewing and summarizing homebuyer applicant income in preparation for review by the Family Selection Committee.

Support the Director of Family Services in responding to and managing any situations related to payment plans or foreclosure that may arise with HHC homeowners.
