Summary

Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The candidate will work under the supervision of the Executive Director. Will oversee all aspects of the Center including supervision of staff attorneys, policy advocacy, program and financial development. Will manage all aspects of the Center's clinical externship at the Law School. Serve as Adjunct Professor at the Law School teaching Cancer Rights and other courses at the discretion of the Executive Director and upon approval by the Law School.

Responsibilities

Interface with staff, pro bono co-counsel and others on issues such as amicus briefs and legislative advocacy. Produce legal scholarship on disability or cancer-related legal issues. Develop legal training programs and materials for public speaking engagements.

Required Skills

Ability to maintain and further develop relationships with national legal, cancer and healthcare stakeholders is a must. Significant travel is involved. : Benefits include health, dental and vision insurance, life and long term disability insurance, 401K, AFLAC eligibility.

Education and
Experience

The candidate should be an Under Member of the California Bar. Must have 7+ years of attorney experience. Supervisory and leadership experience is required. Expertise in disability and civil rights law, health care law, and public policy is needed. Should have demonstrated commitment to public interest law and advocacy. Ability to expand impact of the Center among underserved communities is essential.
