The Controls Technician is responsible for installation, start up, troubleshooting, commissioning and servicing of DDC building automation systems for large commercial HVAC systems. Ideal candidate will be a team player who is cooperative and supportive to meet internal and external expectations and requirements of the Installation Department.

Responsibilities
Prepares for on-site installations by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work, as necessary.
Uses a variety of hand tools, interpreting control drawings, construction drawings and specifications, to mount, assemble, test, and program the system.
Point to point checkout, startup and commissioning on assigned projects.
Analyze problems and resolve issues to ensure overall system functions properly.
Responds to customer service calls (emergency, on-site, or on-line), checks indicated points of trouble, analyzes requirement of system involved and checks and tests systems components.
Tests and verifies system readings ensuring optimal system operation.
Completes service repairs, replacements, upgrades, adjustments and calibration on automation systems and components.
Provides technical support, training and direction to end-users and employees when applicable.
Required Skills
Commercial HVAC trouble shooting skills
Proficient with test meters and understanding wiring diagrams.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Software, IT networks and strong PC skills.
Possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; both written and verbal.
Possess a thorough understanding of control theory and control concepts.
5 years of controls experience to include: HVAC Building Automation Systems, Trend Controls, Novar, DDC, EMS, LON, BACnet, AX and building operations.
High School Diploma or GED.
2 year Vocational Certificate in HVAC, Electrical or Electronics is a plus.
